CJBAT Practice Test

Most applicants seeking admission to Florida law enforcement or correctional officer academies, or applying to many Florida criminal justice agencies, must pass the CJBAT as a prerequisite to demonstrate minimum cognitive and behavioral abilities required for entry-level public safety positions.

The CJBAT typically contains 97 multiple-choice questions, including both operational and pretest items, designed to measure several ability areas such as written comprehension, deduction, and memorization under timed conditions. All operational questions contribute to the candidate’s overall score.

The CJBAT evaluates written comprehension, written expression, problem sensitivity, deductive and inductive reasoning, information ordering, memorization, spatial orientation, and job-related behavioral attributes, reflecting core abilities needed for academy coursework and real-world criminal justice duties.

Registration is typically completed online through an approved testing provider or participating college test center, where candidates create an account, choose the appropriate exam version, select a test location and time, and pay the exam fee in advance.

The CJBAT is offered at authorized test centers across Florida, including Pearson VUE centers and many college assessment offices, allowing candidates to select a convenient location and date from the available appointment options.
